Like Mother Like Daughter
Denise Viveiros was the little girl who invariably ended a day at Horseneck Beach lugging a pail of seashells to the car. She was the woman who invariably ended a week at Marco Island lugging a suitcase of seashells to the plane. Now it’s the UPS driver with the Weetamoe Street route who is doing the lugging – boxes upon boxes of seashells from Florida each week. Following in the footsteps of her mother (quite literally), Lindsey Viveiros found herself hovering over the shoreline waiting for tiny treasures to reveal themselves at a very early age. Bucket filled to the brim, she’d lug her shells home and start gluing away. Trinket boxes, frames, whatever she could get her hands on became her canvas. This creative spirit, instilled by none other than the woman who gave her life, led her down a path to what would be a fulfilling living.

As a part-time business Seashells In Bloom soared selling their products in ten stores throughout Cape Cod within its first few years. In 2006 the prop director of CSI New York requested one of their seashell hair combs to be used for an episode entitled “Stealing Home”. Pulling finger prints from the shells of the comb allowed for close up after close up and gave this new business their television debut.

Busy with imagination and a glue gun, today this mother-daughter team continues to turn nature’s exquisite creations into everything wedding related; bouquets and boutonnieres, centerpieces and card holders, flower baskets and favors not to mention an extensive line of home décor items.
Perusing the beaches of the east coast has inspired Denise and Lindsey and has left at their feet one of the most spectacular treasures; the opportunity to do what they love…together.
